Stand Up Paddleboarding to call Eastern Beach home this weekend as part of the Coasting Program
Eastern Beach, Geelong, VIC/AUS (Monday 23rd April 2017): Geelong Women will get the chance to learn Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) this weekend when the Coasting: SUP for Women program heads to Eastern Beach.
The program is an initiative of VicHealth and is now in its 3rd year of getting females more active through the exciting new activity.
Each participant will learn how to SUP on flat water in a fun, safe and female-friendly environment. The program is led by experienced Surfing Victoria SUP coaches.
Coasting Program Manager Kim Byrne, believes that Geelong is one of the best locations for SUP in Victoria.

“SUP is a safe, easy and fun activity and is perfect for groups of friends who want to chat whilst still getting a good core workout.”

Cost of a 60 minute session is $35 and includes board hire and instruction from Surfing Victoria coaches.

Coasting: SUP for Women is part of VicHealth’s new Active Women and Girls for Health and Wellbeing program which aims to get more females active across the state in both regional and metro areas.

About Coasting SUP for Women:
Coasting is an introductory program that will deliver Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) to females in Victoria, at both coastal and inland locations. The program aims to increase the physical activity levels of females in Victoria in a fun and social environment. Participants are taught the basics around SUP including water safety, correct technique and how to manoeuvre the board whilst engaging in a new activity that they may never have experienced before. The program is delivered via Surfing Victoria affiliated deliverers.
